easy access wardrobes for wheelchair user, holcombe

I have renovated multiple rooms for my client in Holcombe in Somerset who is increasingly dependent on wheelchair use. I worked in close conjunction with her on this particular room to design easy access wardrobes and storage, make the whole room more manoeuvrable and changed the window and an external door so I could incorporate ramp access to her garden to meet building regulations. The wardrobes were made to match existing furniture and were constructed of a combination of oak veneered MDF and solid oak, finished in a clear, hard wax oil. They incorporate sliding doors on handmade steel roller bearing systems for longevity. I also replastered and painted the room and laid new flooring.

hidden office in a wardrobe, esher, surrey

This recessed hidden office was made to match other wardrobes in a period property in Esher, Surrey. The pocket doors opened out and slid into the recess to create open access to the pull out desk.  Lighting and power were also incorporated as well as a secret valuables drawer. Constructed from veneered oak on MDF with solid oak details.
